A practical, psychologically informed course that helps people recognise situations where they could intervene — and gives them different ways to respond safely and effectively.
Recognise situations where action may be needed and explore what can make it difficult to respond.
Understand the different options available. Intervention doesn't have to mean confrontation.
Practise practical approaches for responding in ways that are appropriate to the situation, including the 5Ds of bystander intervention
People can notice something is wrong and still hesitate to act. Power, uncertainty, relationships, perceived risk and the behaviour of other people can all shape what happens next.
Bystander Training moves beyond simply telling people to “speak up”. Participants explore what can help or hinder action and develop a wider range of practical ways to respond.
